Autonomous driving requires error-free and reliable environment recognition so that autonomous vehicles can perceive their environment and react adequately to it. Due to the increasing use of artificial intelligence methods in this area, AI function modules based on machine learning are thus becoming key technologies here.
KI Absicherung is a project of the KI Familie initiated and developed from the Verband der Automobilindustrie (VDA) flagship initiative autonomous and connected driving. They are developing an exemplary stringent and verifiable chain of reasoning for the safeguarding and release of AI function modules in the context of highly automated driving.
On June 23, 2022, »KI Absicherung − Safe AI for Automated Driving« will take place in Berlin and also via livestream. The results of several years of research and development work by the consortium will be presented.
Prof. Dr. Simon Burton, Research Division Director Safety at Fraunhofer IKS, will give a presentation on »Outlook on standardization from the ISO perspective« on June 23 at 3:35pm.
