Dr. Katie Fitch is the acting Department Head of the "Trustworthy Digital Health" department at Fraunhofer IKS. She completed her Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at Princeton University in 2016.
After earning her doctorate, she worked as a postdoc at the Technical University of Munich, focusing on operations research and discrete mathematics. In 2021, she began working for a medtech start-up, where she led a team focused on developing algorithms for automated deep learning analysis of cardiac CTs. Dr. Fitch joined Fraunhofer IKS in 2024.
At Fraunhofer IKS, Dr. Fitch is dedicated to researching trustworthy and explainable AI solutions in the medical field to enhance healthcare.
