Efficient and reliable use of AI in diagnostic laboratories
Fraunhofer IKS invites to online seminar »Safe Intelligence for Laboratories«
Laboratories reliably deliver diagnostic results that help physicians diagnose and prevent diseases. The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) opens up new possibilities in diagnostics by laboratories. For example, AI can help in the early diagnosis of diseases that are already apparent in the analysis of samples due to altered values, but are still hidden from doctors because, no symptoms have appeared in the previous course (example). An earlier and better basis for decision-making in diagnostics can decisively improve the success of treatment or initiate preventive measures at an early stage.
In the online seminar »Safe Intelligence for Laboratories«, Fraunhofer IKS provides an insight into the methodological spectrum of medical artificial intelligence for laboratories. Where does the industry stand? How is laboratory technology evolving?
Anna Solovyova from laboratory service provider SYNLAB explains which current developments and challenges need to be solved with regard to AI application in laboratories in her presentation to kick off the online seminar.
Researchers from Fraunhofer IKS show the potential of processing already existing data and derive possible AI approaches from it. Dr. Narges Ahmidi explains what this looks like using reliable AI applications that are already in use today and what results can be achieved with them in laboratories, among other things.
Topics:
- Status quo of the laboratory industry on the topic of AI.
- Potential of artificial intelligence for diagnostic laboratories
- Data usage and limitations
- Outlook into the future regarding AI and engineering
