Intelligent systems and Artificial intelligence (AI) are on the rise in healthcare and in the manufacture of medical devices. The digital networking of patient and production data, individualized treatment processes or personalized medical devices require the greatest possible safety when using AI in medical devices, as well as increasingly efficient and flexible production processes up to batch size 1.

Artificial intelligence, cognitive systems and intelligent software architectures for autonomous systems are the central research topics at the Fraunhofer Institute for Cognitive Systems IKS, which the VDMA would like to present to you at the restart of the event series »Roadshow Research Digital - MedTech« on

Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 3:00 to 4:30 pm.

Prof. Dr. Simon Burton, Division Director Safety at Fraunhofer IKS, will speak on the topic of »Safety - reliable systems in a networked medical world«. Karsten Roscher, Head of Department Certifiable Artificial Intelligence (Fraunhofer IKS), will then explain how reliable artificial intelligence can work in production using the example of visual inspection. The session will be rounded off with an open discussion.
